Undoubtedly, Islam has brought important rights and achievements for women; we realize these, when we take a brief look at the position of women before the Islam. In different religions and civilizations, women have been oppressed from various aspects of social, economic and cultural life and were not recognized the honor and dignity for her. With the advent of Islam, the golden era of women began, and women gained their identity and innate independence and flourished their hidden talents and alongside men, they participate in different fields and it paved the way for her to become a valuable element in society. Therefore, the women of the Sadr Islam; that is, the mothers of the believers and the daughters of the Prophet and the wives and daughters of the Companions in the two Meccan and civil periods have occupied a wide field of history. She has been present in all matters of society, including: faith, martyrdom, migration, allegiance, and jihad alongside men, and has played her role in Medina in the spread of Islamic jurisprudence in various forms. During the time of the Righteous Caliphs, women continued in the society their activities and efforts that they had achieved in the time of the Prophet and in the presence of the mothers of the believers, and used all their efforts to promote Islam and follow the commands of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet. By accurate examining the historical and jurisprudential sources to the end of the Umayyad period, reveals that women have played a great role in different fields. In the beginning of Islam, they have assisted the studied of Islamic jurisprudence and also their studious activities like promoting and propagating Islamic jurisprudence through the narration of hadith, answering jurisprudential questions, issuing fatwas. In this regard, the lives of wives and daughters of the Prophet, the wives of the companions and their followers are full of these types of activities. Accordingly, the present research based on historical and jurisprudential sources and descriptive-analytical method, aims to examine the role of women in the propagation of Islamic jurisprudence from the beginning of Islam to the end of Umayyad period.
