Mohamad Hasan Alwan, is a Saudi Arabian novelist who has written five novels. Little Death is one of his famous novels that won the Arabic Booker Prize, the most important Arabic prize in novel.This book is important in that in addition to rereading the Ibn Arabi character and his thoughts and insights as one of the significant figures in Islam History, also presents a picture of Islam and Arab world from Ibn Arabi age to the so-called Arabic Spring to the readers and explains several historical, philosophical, political, social and mystical issues in a literary language.In the part dedicated to the rereading of Ibn Arabi character, we have analyzed that how the Ibn Arabi’s character in birth, childhood, adolescence, youth, middle age and old age and death is recalled throughout the novel. In those parts regarding the thoughts and opinions of Ibn Arabi, we have focused on the most important insights and opinions that the author intended to discuss through various techniques. The most important insights are presented in the main nine titles and are analyzed by making use of examples from the text. These insights include religion from the look of mysticism, faqihs, Philosophers, tolerance and lenity in life, the ways toward God, misusing religion by dynasts and kings, cultivation the soul and purifying the heart, scrutinizing hypocrisy and accompanying kings, scrutinizing arrogance, believing in divine appreciation and the place and value of woman. Ibn Arabi character is reread to find multiple purposes in it; first, this style of legacy recognition and its rereading in literary works makes us highly successful in various goals we have depending on our literary genres (prose, poetry, novel, drama) and the goals in creating a literary work (social, religious, philosophical, political). Second, most of our problems, from the difference in religious understanding to misusing religion by kings and dynasts and political, social and even philosophical issues in presented in the novel. Most important is the endeavor to present valuable solutions to this issues and crisis using a literary language.We have endeavored to study the character and thoughts of Ibn Arabi in the Little Death novel by Mohammad Hasan Alwan using a descriptive-analytic method.
